Orban: Georgian citizens did not allow their country to turn into a second Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said after a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Kobakhidze that the people of Georgia did not allow their country to turn into a second Ukraine.

‘We welcome that the Georgian people have chosen peace and the government, in the context of striving for European integration, has not allowed the country to turn into a second Ukraine. Disputes around the election results in Europe will continue, but you should not pay serious attention to it,’ Sputnik Georgia quoted Orban as saying.

According to the results of ballot processing, the ruling Georgian Dream won 53.92 per cent of votes.

Four opposition parties also passed into parliament, receiving a total of 37.78 per cent of votes.

Earlier it was reported that Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili hopes that Western countries will support the protesting citizens expressing dissatisfaction with the results of the parliamentary elections.
