US entrepreneur and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, has been in regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since the end of 2022, discussing ‘personal topics’, business and geopolitics, unnamed sources of The Wall Street Journal claim.
The publication writes that the US government is allegedly aware of this.
‘Regular contacts between the world’s richest man and America’s chief antagonist raise security concerns,’ the article’s subtitle reads.
In August 2023, The New Yorker magazine wrote that Elon Musk had reported private conversations with the Russian president in a conversation with Pentagon officials. The entrepreneur himself later denied his contacts with the Russian head of state.
In 2022, Musk also denied media reports that he had spoken to Putin before presenting his proposals to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. At the time, he said he had spoken to the Russian president ‘only once – 18 months ago,’ and the topic of conversation then was space.
