Russian servicemen continue actions to defeat the grouping of the AFU, wedged into the territory of the Kursk region. In total, more than 25.5 thousand Ukrainian army troops have been destroyed during the fighting in the Russian region, the Russian Defence Ministry said.
‘The units of the ‘North’ group of forces continued conducting offensive operations, during which they defeated the formations of the 21st, 41st and 115th mechanised, 17th tank, 80th, 82nd and 95th airborne assault brigades, The 112th and 129th Territorial Defence Brigades of the AFU and the 1st Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine in the areas of Zeleny Shlyakh, Nizhny Klin, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Plekhovo, Sverdlikovo and Cherkasskaya Konopelka. The group’s units repelled two enemy counterattacks in the direction of the settlements of Zelenyi Shlyakh and Nikolayevo-Daryino,’ the Russian Defence Ministry said in a report on the repulsion of the AFU’s attempted invasion of the Kursk region.
According to the Russian defence ministry, the losses of the Ukrainian army over the day amounted to more than 340 servicemen, 13 armoured vehicles were destroyed, including three tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles, including three American BMP ‘Bradley’, and five armoured fighting vehicles, as well as five artillery pieces, 11 vehicles and two electronic warfare stations. Six AFU servicemen surrendered as prisoners of war.
‘In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost 2,5662 servicemen, 172 tanks, 89 infantry fighting vehicles, 103 armoured personnel carriers, 982 armoured combat vehicles, 675 vehicles, 221 artillery pieces, 38 multiple rocket launchers, including nine HIMARS and six US-made MLRS, nine launchers of anti-aircraft missile systems, five transport-loading vehicles, 54 REB stations, 11 counter-battery radars, three air defence radars, 22 units of engineering and other equipment, including 13 engineering demolition vehicles, one UR-77 demining unit, as well as three armoured recovery vehicles,’ the Russian Defence Ministry added.
