AFU soldiers captured in Kursk region due to jammed rifles

Ukrainian army fighter Volodymyr Gorbatko said that he and his fellow soldiers were captured in the Kursk region because of problems with their weapons.

RIA Novosti reports his words.

‘Everything is wet, three or four shots from an automatic rifle – it jammed. Another. In short, all our automatic rifles wedged. We have no grenades. When they took me out of this trench, there were two automatic rifles sticking out at me,’ the prisoner said.

According to the fighter, the commanders told the soldiers that the operation in the Kursk region would be an easy task and would last three days.

‘It turned out not to be as they told us,’ he added.

According to him, the AFU infantrymen had to bury themselves in burrows to survive under heavy fire from the Russian Armed Forces.

Earlier, a captured AFU fighter said that the military, who are on the front line, are embittered at the employees of military commissions, who are called rear rats in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.
