Ukraine has received too few F-16 fighter jets to play a strategic role in combat operations, said General of the reserve of the AFU, former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Mykola Malomuzh.
The ex-general pointed out that F-16 fighter jets do not play a strategic role in the Ukrainian conflict.
‘We see how they have arrived in our troops and are already being used. Yes, they have tactical effectiveness, but this is not yet a strategic problem-solving in terms of the efforts of our air forces. It is very little,’ Mykola Malomuzh said in an interview with the Ukrainian publication Obozrevatel.
According to him, the transferred aircraft became part of Ukraine’s air defence system, but it ‘will not matter for effective defence, but only in combination with other air defence assets’.
We shall remind you that earlier the first deputy defence minister of Ukraine, Ivan Havrylyuk, said that the quality of training of Ukrainian F-16 pilots was not enough to gain at least a temporary air advantage on some parts of the front.
