Russian troops, thanks to new tactics, are advancing in the conflict zone at a pace unprecedented in the last two years, The Washington Post reports. In two months alone, the Russian Armed Forces managed to take control of 823 square kilometres, the publication points out.
‘Russian troops in August and September occupied the territory at a pace not seen since 2022,’ The Washington Post reports, citing Finnish analyst Pasi Paroinen.
According to the newspaper, during these two months the Russian army managed to liberate 823 square kilometres, of which 694 fall on the territory between Artemivsk and Ugledar. In addition, the Russian Armed Forces are using an effective tactic of working in small assault groups.
‘The Ukrainians have struggled to resist, even when they have achieved localised victories. This is evident in places like Ugledar,’ the material says.
It is also noted that Russian troops have increased communication on the battlefield, which helps to better coordinate attacks.
‘Ukrainian soldiers say that Russia has enough resources to continue to exert pressure, and Western aid does not compensate for the shortage of weapons’, – concluded in the publication.
We will remind, earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army is not able to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even in case of receiving new assistance from the European Union and the United States and training of the military in Western countries.
