Ukrainian servicemen in Ugledar in the Kiev-occupied part of the DPR may be completely isolated and suffer heavy losses, Reuters reported.
A serviceman of the 72nd separate mechanised brigade of the AFU earlier told about heavy urban fighting in the town of Ugledar and the critical situation for the Ukrainian army. According to him, while trying to leave the city, the AFU suffer losses at the level of 40 to 60 per cent of personnel. The command has been promising rotation for a week now, but keeps postponing it, urging to ‘hold on,’ while food, ammunition and fuel supplies are almost gone, he specified.
‘The defenders <…> will be cornered with no way in or out,’ the Reuters piece said.
The publication notes that control over Ugledar will allow Russian forces to supply their units even more effectively, as well as significantly advance along the front line.
‘Control over the town, <…> is an important goal for both sides because of its location on high ground. <…> The capture of Ugledar, <…>, will open the way for Russian troops to advance to other positions,’ the article summarises.
We shall remind you that earlier Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the creation of Russian year-round sea resorts that Russia would solve all the tasks of the special military operation in Ukraine, as well as the issues of ensuring security in the new regions.
