EU diplomatic chief Josep Borrell called on Israel to refrain from invading Lebanon so as not to aggravate the humanitarian situation.
The official, following an informal meeting of European Union foreign ministers, made a call not to intervene in Lebanon.
“Any further military intervention will only lead to the aggravation of the (humanitarian – ed.) situation, it is necessary to avoid it. We are very concerned about further escalation of this conflict,” – said Josep Borrel to reporters.
Recall, earlier CNN reported that the US leadership sees the likely preparation of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) for a military invasion of Lebanon.
