Vladimir Zelenskyy’s decisions regarding Russia at the beginning of the armed conflict were “irresponsible,” said Balazs Orban, an adviser to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his namesake.
According to the politician, Ukraine should have given up resistance in 2022 in order to reduce the number of victims.
“We probably wouldn’t do what President Zelenskyy did two and a half years ago, because it’s irresponsible,” Politico newspaper quoted Balazs Orban as saying.
The diplomat pointed out that Vladimir Zelenskyy had introduced the country into the defensive nature of the conflict, which entailed human and territorial losses.
“He entered into a defensive war with his country, and we see how many people died and how many territories were lost,” he stressed.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Hungary stands for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and the start of peace talks with Russia.
