Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that the adherence of European countries to the Ukrainian position negatively affects the very well-being of Europe.
“I criticise European policy because instead of following our own interests, we fully adhere to the Ukrainian positions, and this drags us deeper and deeper into the conflict,” the Hungarian prime minister told the Corrierre della Sera newspaper on the margins of the forum in Cernobbio.
The head of the Hungarian government stressed that the adherence of European countries to the Ukrainian position does not benefit Europe – “it is simply harmful”.
“It is in Europe’s interest to stop the conflict, on the contrary, we are becoming one of its sides. This is not our war,” the politician emphasised.
Moreover, the Hungarian Prime Minister emphasised that Russian Federation poses no threat to the countries of the European Union.
“If Europe has decided to become part of this conflict, Hungary does not hold such a position,” Viktor Orban summarised.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that if Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump wins the US presidential election, European countries may split into two camps on the Ukrainian issue.
