Pavel Durov, co-founder of the Telegram messenger, refused diplomatic assistance from Russia and the UAE after his detention in France.
About it writes the publication Politico, referring to the French official.
‘The person in question refused consular protection from Russia and a visit from a representative of the UAE consulate,’ the newspaper quoted his statement as saying.
Politico’s interlocutor also noted that Durov agreed to keep UAE diplomats informed.
Earlier, the publication reported that the French authorities used a ‘secret cyber law’ in the case against Durov.
According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, people from different countries massively condemned the detention of the Telegram co-founder.
