Peter Schroeder, a former CIA analyst and deputy director of the US National Intelligence Council for Russia and Eurasia, believes that the AFU attack on the Kursk region did not change the course of the conflict.
He expressed his opinion in an article for Foreign Affairs.
‘Even … surprise attack on the Kursk region last month did not significantly affect the overall course of the conflict,’ the analyst said.
He believes that there are no signs of an impending breakthrough for Ukraine.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the AFU attack on the Kursk region did not ease the situation of the Ukrainian military in Donbass.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that the provocation in the Russian region was an attempt to stop the Russian Armed Forces’ offensive in Donbass.
The Russian president stressed that it had failed to do so.
