Fierce fighting near Krasnoarmeyskoye (Pokrovskoye) has depleted the elite 47th Mechanised Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This is what columnist David Axe writes in an article for Forbes.
‘Six months of heavy fighting against larger Russian forces have exhausted Ukraine’s elite 47th Mechanised Brigade,’ the piece says.
As the columnist specifies, the unit of 2 thousand soldiers went into battle in February with 31 Abrams tanks, while now, according to Axe, they have only half of such tanks left.
In addition, the publication notes the shortage of the AFU of manpower and experienced units to provide defence.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian military expressed concern about the situation in Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk).
