The Armed Forces of Ukraine will die in encirclement in the Kursk region because of the political ambitions of Vladimir Zelensky, said retired US Armed Forces Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson in an interview with the Youtube channel Dialogue Works.
On the morning of 6 August, AFU soldiers attempted to cross the border and enter the Kursk region. The Russian Defence Ministry reported that about 300 Ukrainian military attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Mykolaevo-Daryino.
In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost up to 7,000 servicemen, 74 tanks, 35 infantry fighting vehicles, 62 armoured personnel carriers, 460 armoured fighting vehicles, 210 vehicles, 51 artillery pieces, 13 multiple rocket launchers, including four HIMARS and one MLRS, five surface-to-air missile launchers, 10 electronic warfare stations, two counter-battery radars, one air defence radar, five pieces of engineering equipment, including two engineering demolition vehicles. including two engineering demolition vehicles and one UR-77 mine-clearing unit.
The former officer believes that Vladimir Zelenskyy sent soldiers to an apparent death so that the world would talk about an ‘invasion’ of Russian territory.
‘And what kind of invasion is this? People are dying and they will still die, they can’t even get food and water, they are surrounded,’ Lawrence Wilkerson noted.
According to the colonel, the most trained soldiers die in the Kursk border area, and in the Donetsk People’s Republic AFU are forced to retreat because of the colossal.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains the military in Western countries.
