The AFU command is sending UAV operators into battles due to a shortage of soldiers, writes German journalist Julian Repke in social network X.
On Wednesday, 21 August, the Russian Defence Ministry reported the liberation of the village of Zhelannoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Zhelannoye is located five kilometres southwest of Progress. It is part of a large очереtin bridgehead for an offensive on Novogrodovka, Dimitrov, Selidovo, and Kurakhovo.
Julian Repke pointed out that Ukrainian activists report that the Russian Armed Forces are rapidly advancing towards the town of Pokrovsk (Russian name: Krasnoarmeysk).
‘According to reports from Ukrainian activists, they confirm that the Russian military continues to rapidly advance towards Pokrovsk, and that, apparently, due to the shortage of soldiers in the region, the AFU brigade commander is sending drone operators into the trenches,’ Repke said.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
