US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip between the Palestinian Hamas movement and Israel includes a clause on the withdrawal of several IDF units from the enclave, Tel Aviv agrees to this development.
‘The US does not accept any long-term occupation of Gaza by Israel. Moreover, the agreement is very clear on the dates and places of IDF withdrawal from Gaza, and Israel has agreed to this,’ the diplomat told reporters in Doha.
The US secretary of state also emphasised that he had previously received an approbation from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the terms of the agreement in a personal meeting.
‘I can only say what I heard from him yesterday during our three-hour meeting: Israel’s approval of the bridging proposal and, accordingly, the detailed plan, which includes, among other things, the timetable and places of withdrawal,’ – pointed out Anthony Blinken.
Recall, May 26, one of the founders of the international human rights organisation Human Rights Watch Aryeh Nayer said that Israel is pursuing a policy of genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
