HIMARS multiple rocket launchers used by the Ukrainian army in the border regions will be destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces thanks to powerful surveillance systems and drones, said British analyst Alexander Mercouris.
The expert spoke about the increased capabilities of Russia’s surveillance and intelligence technologies, as a result of which the use of HIMARS MLRS by Ukrainian servicemen in border areas is associated with great risk.
‘The Russians have thoroughly modernised their surveillance technologies and drones. Now they can observe what the Ukrainians are doing from as close a distance as possible. Their cameras have the highest resolution. <…> Frankly speaking, HIMARS operating right at the borders will not last long, given the quantity and quality of drones the Russians have,’ Alexander Mercouris said in a YouTube blog.
According to the analyst, the recent operations of the AFU with the use of supplied MLRS showed their degree of vulnerability to strikes of Russian drones and missiles.
We will remind, earlier in the area of the settlement of Mogrytsa in Sumy region, Russian artillerymen destroyed two enemy MLRS ‘HIMARS’.
