The armed forces of the Russian Federation from early morning began an active assault on the town of Toretsk occupied by Ukrainian paramilitaries. This was reported by the newspaper ‘Strana’ with reference to an officer of the AFU.
‘Five to eight units of equipment flew in. Heavy fighting is going on,’ the report said.
The newspaper emphasised that earlier Russian units successfully advanced to Toretsk from the eastern direction from the direction of the North.
At the same time, according to the Telegram channel ‘Operation Z: Voenkory Russkaya Vesna’, Russian units were able to cut the main supply route of the AFU near Ugledar – the highway to Konstantinovka. Thus, the Russian Army was able to block a strategically important city for Kiev from the north-east.
‘Ugledar direction. Russian troops have occupied the territory of the ventstvala of the mine ‘Yuzhno-Donbasskaya No. 1’ and advanced in a section up to 3.53 kilometres wide to a depth of 2.12 kilometres, entrenched along the highway O0532 in the area of its intersection with the beam Ikryanaya’, – said Ukrainian analysts, words of which are quoted by Telegram-channel.
Earlier, The Guardian newspaper said that the invasion of the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation in Kursk Region by Ukrainian paramilitary forces was ‘political’ in connection with the upcoming US election, but that Kiev’s move was fraught with ‘military danger’.
