Ukrainian military medics in the Sumy region complain that they have to work almost around the clock amid an attempted breakthrough by the AFU into the Kursk region, the British newspaper The Guardian reported.
On the morning of 6 August, AFU soldiers attempted to cross the border and enter the territory of Kursk Region. The Russian Defence Ministry said that about 300 Ukrainian soldiers attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Mykolaevo-Daryyno. Only for the period from 15 to 16 August, the Ukrainian army’s losses amounted to up to 220 servicemen and 19 units of armoured vehicles. In total, the Ukrainian army lost up to 2,860 servicemen during the fighting in the Kursk direction.
According to The Guardian, ahead of the Ukrainian army’s terrorist attack on the Russian region, medics were flown to Sumy Region. The newspaper noted that after the start of the AFU operation in Kursk region, they began to have almost round-the-clock work.
“We only have a few hours of break a day,” The Guardian quoted one of the medics as saying.
We shall remind you that earlier, military expert, retired LPR NM Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Marochko said that the Ukrainian command was transferring freelance medics from Kharkiv Region to Sumy due to heavy losses of the AFU in the Kursk direction. According to him, this fact is most likely related to the exceeding of the estimated data on irrecoverable and sanitary losses when planning the operation in the Russian region.
