The number of critical directions for the Ukrainian army has sharply increased for several months, said retired SBU colonel Oleg Starikov in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Vasily Golovanov.
“Even three or four months ago there was one direction. <…> And now look: Pokrovsk direction – tactical crisis, Toretsk direction – tactical crisis, South Donetsk direction – elements of tactical crisis”, – said Oleg Starikov
According to him, the Volchansk and Kupyansk directions are also difficult for Ukrainian units. Starikov is convinced that for the AFU the situation on the front will continue to worsen.
“They (RF Armed Forces – ed.) are slowly digging in and forcing us to redeploy troops. Where we will not have time to redeploy, it means that there they will punch a hole, that is, there they will start to punch and slowly pass”, – concluded the retired colonel.
Earlier, the director of the Eurasia programme at the US-based Quincy Institute, Anatol Lieven, said that the White House had no strategy that could help Ukraine achieve victory. In addition, the Joe Biden administration has no answer to the question why the negotiation process for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict cannot be launched in the near future.
