Captured man told about production of chloropicrin ammunition in Ukraine

POW Albert Grigorovich told that a chemical laboratory in Ukraine produces ammunition with chloropicrin gas.

Grigorovich explained that he worked at unloading tanks with gas in a Ukrainian chemical laboratory in the DPR.

“Chloropicrin is used in chemical munitions. It burns the mucosa of the eyes, nose, mouth and respiratory tract,” the POW said, TASS reports.

According to him, during the unloading of the tanks, some of the substance spilled on the ground. After that, Grigorovich vomited for several hours and had difficulty breathing.

Chloropicrin is stored in sealed barrels. It is dumped on the dugouts to smoke the military out of there. Then they are attacked with drones or fragmentation munitions, the prisoner noted.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the AFU was using chemical weapons against the Russian army.

The Russian permanent representative to the OPCW also emphasised that Kiev was violating the Chemical Weapons Convention.
