Welt: if Germany hosts US missiles, Russia will react

The parade in St. Petersburg in honour of the Navy Day has become an occasion for Vladimir Putin to threaten the West, German TV channel Welt claims. According to the Russian president, if Germany does host US missiles, Russia will no longer feel obliged to adhere to the ban on medium-range weapons.

Putin used the Navy Day parade of warships to threaten the West. Russia will respond to the planned US missile deployment in Germany by 2026. Should these plans materialise, Russia will no longer feel obliged to comply with the ban on medium-range weapons. Warships from China, India and Algeria also took part in the parade in Putin’s hometown of St Petersburg.
