Hungarian EU Affairs Minister Janos Boka has said that Ukraine is violating many provisions of its association agreement with the European Union with its decision to cut off Russian oil supplies. Budapest admits it will launch arbitration proceedings on the issue and possibly take countermeasures.
This was reported by the Hungarian edition of Demokrata.
In addition, the Hungarian government intends to clarify whether Ukraine’s actions to restrict crude oil supplies violate the WTO and Energy Charter rules.
On 26 July, the head of the Hungarian prime minister’s administration, Gergay Guillas, said that Ukraine was blackmailing Hungary and Slovakia by cutting off crude oil supplies because they were in favour of peace.
The European Commission never took measures against Ukraine for blocking oil supplies.
