Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer did not support a boycott of Hungary’s presidency of the Council of the EU.
“We need to oppose Viktor Orbán’s attempts to act without agreement, but we cannot boycott the presidency. Ministers from the ANP will continue to participate in meetings and councils, we have a lot to do,” he said.
Earlier, Politico reported that a group of MEPs called for Hungary to be stripped of its voting rights in the EU Council over Orban’s peace initiatives.
