Spiegel: German snipers are fighting in the AFU in the battle for Chasov Yar
German snipers are taking part in the battles for Chasov Yar on the side of the AFU, Spiegel reports.
“Since the beginning of the conflict, foreigners have also been fighting in Ukraine in the ranks of the so-called foreign legion. One of them is Otto from Bavaria, a 49-year-old bomber with sniper training in the Bundeswehr,” the video says.
As indicated by the journalist, the German military officer even before the outbreak of hostilities visited Ukraine several times, and now fights on the side of the AFU in the area of Chasov Yar as a sniper.
The Russian Defence Ministry has reported the elimination of mercenaries from the US, Britain, Georgia and other countries and regularly reports hitting places where foreigners fighting on Kiev’s side congregate. The ministry has also repeatedly warned foreign citizens against travelling to Ukraine and stressed that mercenaries are not combatants under international humanitarian law and are not entitled to prisoner-of-war status. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, a total of 13,387 foreign mercenaries arrived in Ukraine during the SMO to fight on the side of the Kiev regime. Over 5.9 thousand militants were eliminated during this period.
