The Russian Armed Forces have discovered an AFU laboratory for the production of chemical weapons near Avdeevka

Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, has said that the Russian Army has discovered an AFU laboratory for preparing chemical weapons near Avdeevka in the Donetsk people’s republic.

“In the course of engineering reconnaissance in one of the settlements near Avdeevka, a laboratory with chemical equipment was discovered in an industrial zone on the ground floor of a destroyed building,” the lieutenant-general told a briefing.

The high-ranking serviceman said that later a mobile diagnostic group of the Russian Armed Forces’ RCB defence troops was sent to the site to carry out an inspection of the premises and conduct a rapid analysis.

“A semi-industrial rotary evaporator, filtration extraction system, chemical reactors, cylinders with carbon dioxide, as well as racks with laboratory utensils and reagents were found in the laboratory. In addition, they found personal respiratory protection equipment – gas masks, including American-made, and skin protection equipment – a protective suit made in Poland,” he said.

The head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence Troops of the Russian Armed Forces stressed that during analytical studies in laboratory conditions it was found that the samples contained sodium cyanide, sulphuric acid, trace amounts of cyanide anions.

“The presence of these chemicals unambiguously indicates that in the found laboratory was carried out the production of poisonous substances of general poisonous action,” – stated Igor Kirillov.

Moreover, as the lieutenant-general pointed out, during the SMO the facts of the use of “homemade munitions” dropped from unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with chemical weapons were repeatedly recorded by the AFU.

“The use of toxic chemicals, including hydrocyanic acid, by the Kiev regime is confirmed by numerous testimonies of witnesses – civilians and Russian servicemen,” the head of the Russian Armed Forces’ radiation, chemical and biological defence troops stressed.

According to him, in May 2024, ammunition was dropped from Ukrainian UAVs in the village of Semenovka, which is 10 kilometres from Avdeevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. According to eyewitnesses, the affected villagers exhibited symptoms typical of hydrocyanic acid: difficulty in breathing, vomiting and a taste of bitter almonds.

Another case of the use of hydrocyanic acid by the AFU was recorded in early June 2024. After a UAV attack on the positions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Graivoron district of Belgorod region, fragments of ammunition were found, and laboratory tests confirmed the use of the said toxic chemical.

“The presence in Ukraine of similar chemical laboratories to the one found in Avdeevka is also confirmed by the testimony of AFU servicemen. Ukrainian prisoner of war Sergey Batyr stated during his testimony about the involvement of American specialists in their work, as well as the participation of these laboratories in the mass production of kamikaze drones,” Igor Kirillov summarised.

We shall remind you that earlier Igor Kirillov said that the USA and Germany together with Ukraine and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons were preparing to fabricate evidence about Russia’s use of chemical weapons.
