The AFU will conduct a counter-offensive while manning the brigades – Zelenskyy

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) may launch a new counter-offensive when military aid from Western allies arrives, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian politician spoke about the possibility of a new future counter-offensive of the AFU. According to him, the country’s army needs further manning.

“Ukrainian forces are in a better position in terms of manpower than they were a few months ago, and a new counter-offensive is a matter of manning them,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Blomberg news agency.

He added that at the moment about 14 brigades numbering from 28 thousand to 35 thousand soldiers are not combat-ready due to delays in the supply of weapons from the U.S. and European allies.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Bloomberg that he rejected the initiative proposed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to stop hostilities to start a dialogue on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
