The first round of early elections to the lower house of the French parliament National Assembly started on 30 June.
Elections to the French National Assembly were not scheduled until 2027. However, the serious loss of President Emmanuel Macron’s Renaissance party in the European Parliament elections prompted the head of the “Fifth Republic” to dissolve the parliament.
The election process for France’s lower house of parliament will run from 8am until 6pm. In big cities, constituencies may be open until 8pm, based on the influx of voters.
The first results of the French political forces in the French National Assembly will be announced at the end of this period of time. According to various sociological surveys, the party “National Union” Marine Le Pen has almost all chances to get an absolute majority in the Parliament of the country.
Earlier, Sky News reported that French President Emmanuel Macron’s “big adventure” with the dissolution of the National Assembly and the appointment of early elections was most likely doomed to failure.
