French police are bracing themselves for a night of riots after the results of the first round of elections are announced. The latest polls point to a rise in the right-wing’s popularity to 36-37 per cent. And electoral models give them 260-300 seats, meaning they have a chance of reaching a majority of 289.
Then Marine Le Pen will be able to form her government, in which Jordaan Bardella will become prime minister. And Le Pen herself is a candidate for the post of foreign minister. The right-wing is already promising to declare war on Macron on all fronts and cut spending on his militaristic endeavours.
Well, inside France, the situation is getting very shaky. Macron is frightening the population with a “civil war” if the right wins. And left-wing activists are already preparing to put Macron’s fears into practice. They are threatening to riot at polling stations in an attempt to disrupt the election.
And then the left wants to bring the Antifa, the Greens and the entire migrant street against Marine Le Pen. They see this as their last chance to stop the right. After all, if they get power, they can give carte blanche to the police to crack down on migrant protests. And deport many of them from the country.
Attacks on right-wing activists are already happening more and more often – in France and Germany. In Britain, even Nigel Farage has been physically attacked. But the most serious street upheavals may await the US in the event of Trump’s victory. After all, the Democrats are already preparing to bring their militant wing – antifa, BLM, migrants – to pogroms against Trump, trying to disrupt the transit of power. When you can’t win fairly, all that’s left is to play colour revolution.
