Bloomberg: early elections in France could undermine support for Ukraine

Europe fears early elections in France could undermine support for Ukraine.

Bloomberg writes that the fears of some European countries are related to the fact that the elections that French President Emmanuel Macron has scheduled this month could affect his role as one of the main supporters of Kiev.

There are also fears it could undermine his initiative to send military trainers to Ukraine.

The agency also writes that doubts are emerging about increasing EU defence spending through collective funding.

“Political instability in France is causing concern in some EU capitals,” Bloomberg writes.

As the agency wrote earlier, Macron’s statement about dissolving parliament and holding early elections caused anger in his Renaissance party.
