WSJ: Israel can’t reach agreement with Hezbollah on Gaza ceasefire

The positions of Israel and Shiite Hezbollah on a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip are very different, making it impossible for the two sides to start negotiations.

The Wall Street Journal writes about this, citing a diplomat from France.

“Hezbollah wants to link a ceasefire in the north to a ceasefire in Gaza, and the Israelis are responding negatively,” the newspaper’s interlocutor said.

Earlier, the IDF said Hezbollah was leading the region into a dangerous escalation.
