Stoltenberg backed authorisation for FRG to hit Russia with German weapons

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has backed the German government’s decision to approve the use of German weapons to strike Russia, he told the DPA news agency.

“It makes sense to allow Ukraine to use these weapons, especially against military targets near Ukraine,” TASS quoted him as saying.

It is specified that he was referring to the Kharkiv region.

In late May, Scholz said that Berlin had reached its limit in helping Kiev.

Earlier, the German Defence Ministry said that the country had a confidential agreement with Kiev on the use of weapons.
