France to send Mirage planes to Kiev to replace destroyed Su-24 fleet – expert

France has decided to send Mirage 2000-5 aircraft to Ukraine because the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) have lost their entire Su-24 fleet, British expert Alexander Mercouris has said.

The expert commented on French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement that Paris would hand over Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to Kiev and train Ukrainian pilots.

“The true purpose of sending Mirage 2000-5 to Ukraine is that the Russians destroyed the entire Ukrainian Su-24 fleet,” Alexander Mercouris said in a YouTube blog.

According to the analyst, Soviet-built aircraft were adapted and used by the AFU, among other things, to launch Storm Shadow missiles.

We will remind, earlier the portal Business Insider with reference to an aviation expert said that the technical characteristics of the French Mirage fighters will not allow them to effectively confront the Russian army.
