Moldova to start talks with US on handing over classified information

The Moldovan government intends to initiate negotiations with the US government on the exchange of classified information. The relevant draft is on the agenda of the country’s executive branch, which will be submitted for consideration on Wednesday. This was reported by Canal 5 TV channel.

 

According to the TV channel, at today’s cabinet meeting, the cabinet will approve the composition of the delegation that will go to Washington to hold talks and sign the relevant bilateral agreement. The delegation will be headed by the deputy head of the Information and Security Service, Viktor Hodorozha, who will be accompanied by two SIS representatives. Two officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also be in charge of the negotiations.

Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popşoi initiated the establishment of such arrangements between the countries, the material says.

According to the published information, in case one of the members of the delegation is dismissed, the one who will be appointed in his place will become a member of the negotiating team without the Government’s approval. The document was signed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Foreign Minister Mihai Popşoi.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that Western countries were preparing the fate of a “second Ukraine” for Moldova as “another instrument of their aggression”.
