Politico: Austria backed Belgium’s call to strip Hungary of its EU voting rights

Austria has backed a Belgian proposal to strip Hungary of its EU voting rights.

About it writes Politico, referring to the Foreign Ministry of the country.

According to Austrian diplomats, the Belgian idea is “particularly correct” ahead of Budapest’s upcoming presidency of the EU Council.

“We support strict compliance with the Article 7 procedure (of the 2007 EU treaty. – RT) against Hungary,” an Austrian foreign ministry spokesman said.
