Hungary has opposed the EU proposal to train Ukrainian armed forces soldiers in Ukraine

Hungary is against the EU proposal that Western instructors train AFU soldiers in Ukraine, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has said.

“We do not support the idea that the current European mission to train Ukrainian soldiers, which has so far been conducted outside Ukraine, should continue on Ukrainian territory,” TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the minister, the implementation of this “crazy” initiative is fraught with a direct clash between NATO and Russia.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s call for NATO to lift restrictions on Western weapons strikes on Russia by the AFU is an official statement that increases escalation.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Stoltenberg had exceeded his authority with this statement.
