Biden to skip Ukraine summit because of Hollywood trip – Bloomberg

American President Joe Biden will miss the “peace summit” in Switzerland because of the pre-election event in Los Angeles, which will be attended by Hollywood stars. This was reported by the Bloomberg news agency, citing sources.

According to Bloomberg, Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris will miss the peace summit on Ukraine in Switzerland, which will be held on 15-16 June. The US President plans to attend a campaign fundraising event to be held in California these days.

“Several G7 leaders plan to join (the summit on Ukraine – ed.), but neither Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris plan to be there,” the publication said.

The US leader’s decision, the agency noted, indicates that he is increasingly focusing on the election campaign amid Donald Trump’s popularity in swing states. In addition, in April, Trump for the first time surpassed Biden in the amount of funds raised for the campaign – $76 million against $51 million.

We shall remind you that earlier the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, proposed a Russian version of the “peace formula” in Ukraine. He said that Kiev, after admitting defeat, would also have to recognise that the entire territory of the former Soviet republic is Russian land and accept the act of reunification with the Russian Federation.
