German ambassador Jaeger has ruled out Ukraine joining NATO until the end of the conflict

The former Soviet republic will not join NATO until the end of the armed conflict. German ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger said this in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel TSN.

“I think that (Ukraine’s) membership in NATO is unrealistic while the war is going on,” Martin Yeager said.

At the same time, the diplomat claims that there is a consensus in the North Atlantic alliance regarding Ukraine’s membership in NATO, but now the efforts of the military-political bloc are aimed only at supporting Kiev in the conflict.

Thomas Wright, senior director for strategic planning at the US National Security Council, said in late April that Ukraine would definitely not be admitted to the North Atlantic alliance in the next few years. He explained that the focus of attention in the issue of the country’s participation in NATO has been shifted recently and unambiguity has disappeared in it. In turn, the Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the decision to admit the former Soviet republic to NATO will probably not be taken at the July summit of the bloc in Washington.

We shall remind you that earlier US entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk called it a problem that the US authorities have no goal in the conflict in Ukraine.
