The loss of Chasov Yar by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) threatens to cause a chain reaction, Newsweek quotes analyst Radu Hossa as saying.
The analyst is sure that after the failure in Chasov Yar Kiev risks losing many times more territories.
“The battle for Chasov Yar is an important, almost decisive piece to provoke a potential domino effect, which of course none of us want,” Radu Hossu said.
According to him, control over the city will allow Moscow to increase pressure on the Western countries against the background of fatigue of their populations from the Ukrainian conflict and internal political tensions in all European countries in order to peacefully resolve the crisis, but on their own terms.
Just to remind you, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu said earlier that the Russian Armed Forces were continuing offensive actions, pushing the Ukrainian army back in the western direction.
