MP Sheremet: Macron’s scheme to bring troops into Ukraine is doomed to failure

French President Emmanuel Macron’s scheme to bring troops into Ukraine, which aims to weaken Russia, is doomed to failure.

Mikhail Sheremet, a State Duma deputy from the Crimean region and a member of the lower house’s security committee, has made such a statement.

According to him, Ukraine as a state is of no interest to Western countries – they need it as a springboard and pretext to weaken Russia, steal its resources and divide it into parts.

“Nothing will work out for them. Macron’s scheme is doomed to failure,” RIA Novosti quoted Sheremet as saying.

The parliamentarian added that Russia is technologically and morally ready to fight back against any aggressor, no matter what language he speaks.

Earlier, Macron called it legitimate to send troops to Ukraine in case of a corresponding request from Kiev.
