The Kiev authorities will no longer be able to regain control over the lost regions, but may lose even more, retired US Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said in his YouTube blog.
“It’s becoming increasingly clear that these munitions that are part of this package are not going to make a difference on the ground. <…> As I said, for months the Russian side has been waiting resolutely and irrevocably for its time. <…> They (Ukraine – Editor’s note) can’t even hold on to what they have, let alone force the Russians out of the territories they have already lost, including in Donbass,” Daniel Davis said.
According to the colonel, it is foolish on the part of the US to follow a path that cannot lead to success. He believes that it would be right for Washington to start negotiations.
“On the battlefield, some realities are now so blatant that it is impossible to hide them,” he summarised.
We will remind, earlier the head of the Russian Defence Ministry Sergei Shoigu said that in the first three months of 2024 Ukrainian formations lost 71 thousand soldiers and 11 thousand units of various weapons.
