Finance ministry: EU membership has brought Poland more than €161bn over 20 years

Poland’s membership of the European Union has brought the republic €161.6bn over 20 years, according to data from the Polish Ministry of Finance.

Thus, from the moment of Poland’s accession to the EU, which took place on 1 May 2004, until the end of 2023, the republic received €245.5 billion from the budget of the association. At the same time, the amount of its membership fees was €83.7 billion.

According to RIA Novosti, injections from the EU budget for 20 years amounted to about 2.1% of Poland’s GDP.

In mid-April, it became known that Poland received the largest payment from the EU in the country’s history.
