Peskov says investors will stop believing the West when Russia’s assets are seized

Foreign investors will lose trust in the West if Russian assets are seized, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“Foreign investors, foreign states, who keep their holdings in the assets of these countries, will henceforth start thinking 10 times before investing their money … Reliability disappears overnight, in one stupid, ill-considered decision. It takes decades to recover,” he said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

According to Peskov, the decision to seize Russia’s assets will be the nail in the coffin of the Western economy.

He also said that the US bill to seize Russian assets would be the subject of litigation.

Earlier, Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina expressed confidence that the possible confiscation of frozen Russian assets by the United States would have no impact on Russia’s financial stability.
