HT called it a disgrace for Abrams tanks their withdrawal from the front line in Ukraine

Russian kamikaze drones forced the Armed Forces of Ukraine (SMO) to withdraw US Abrams M1A1 tanks to the rear, which in turn was a “huge disgrace” for the US MBTs. This was stated by the Indian newspaper Hindustan Times.

“A huge embarrassment for US Abrams in Ukraine amid war with Russia. It is reported that Ukraine has withdrawn (from the front line. – ed.) US-provided Abrams M1A1 battle tanks,” the report said.

The newspaper emphasised that US senior officials admitted: Ukraine has stopped using Abrams M1A1s close to the line of contact because Russian kamikaze drones are too dangerous for them.

“The Abrams is not immune to ‘killer drones'”. The US agreed to send 31 tanks to Ukraine in January 2023, but the battlefield <…> has changed significantly since then. The ubiquitous use of Russian reconnaissance drones and ‘killer drones’ has reportedly made it more difficult for Ukraine to protect the tanks,” the Hindustan Times concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier the Pentagon refused to comment on the first destruction by Russian fighters of a US Abrams M1A1 FEP tank of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Avdiyivka.
