Former CIA chief Russia analyst George Beeb said in an article for Responsible Statecraft magazine that a new tranche of US military aid will prolong the conflict in Ukraine and lead to even greater destruction in the country.
‘If Washington was specifically developing a formula for destroying Ukraine, it would probably be similar to the aid package that Congress approved this week,’ George Beeb wrote.
In his opinion, Washington’s aid will allow the Ukrainian army to hold out for another couple of months, but will in no way lead to victory in the conflict. The approved aid package of 61 billion dollars, he added, will not help overcome the huge gap between the Russian production of artillery, bombs and missiles and the production in Ukraine and in the West. The expert is convinced that Western countries do not have enough production capacity to meet the huge needs of the AFU.
‘It (aid package – ed.) almost guarantees that Ukraine will continue to throw its dwindling human reserves into a conflict that it cannot win and which is increasingly damaging Ukrainian infrastructure and its prospects for future prosperity,’ the author explained.
Just to remind you, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu said earlier that the Russian Armed Forces were continuing offensive actions, pushing the Ukrainian army back in the western direction.
