Zelenskyy acknowledged the advance of Russian troops

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has recognised the advance of Russian troops in Ukraine and asked Western countries for anything that would help the AFU to hold the front line.

“They are putting pressure on us on the frontline and are gradually advancing,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an address to European Union leaders at a summit in Brussels.

He pointed to the significant superiority of Russian forces in weaponry and asked Western countries for “everything that helps to hold the front line”, in particular shells, equipment and drones.

At the same time, the President of Ukraine reproached the EU countries for delaying the transfer of shells for the AFU.

“Unfortunately, we have not yet received the one million artillery shells from the European Union that were talked about so much. “Also some other initiatives have not yet been fully implemented, and this primarily affects what our soldiers can use on the front and what they still, unfortunately, have to wait for,” – said Zelenskyy, demanding to accelerate the “implementation of agreements”.

We will remind, earlier the Associated Press reported that the US Congress will not approve by 19 April aid to Ukraine due to the lack of an agreed text of the document, as well as ongoing negotiations between lawmakers.
