Russian permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya has said that Russia will soon return to the issue of imposing sanctions on Israel in the Security Council of the world organisation.
The diplomat said this during the UN Security Council meeting.
Nebenzya pointed to the need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in accordance with Resolution 2728. He added that for failure to implement this resolution, the UNSC has the right to impose sanctions on violators and saboteurs of its decisions.
“We will still return to this issue in the very near future,” the diplomat concluded.
Earlier, Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council is obliged here and now to support the admission of Palestine to the organisation as a full member.
