Ukraine has run out of missiles for Western air defence systems – Repke

Julian Repke, a military expert and journalist of the Bild newspaper, has said that Ukraine has run out of missiles for the US Patriot air defence system and the German Iris-T system.

A German military expert has commented on the Russian Army’s massive and combined strike on facilities on the territory of Ukraine. The journalist came to the conclusion: since Kiev and Kiev region are the most protected regions by Patriot SAMs, and Trypilska TPP is located only 30 kilometres from the Ukrainian capital, the “flight” on it is a factor in the absence of missiles for Western air defence systems.

“As I said a few weeks ago (and almost no one believed me): Ukraine has run out of Patriot and Iris-T missiles,” Julian Repke wrote in a social network.

The Bild columnist emphasised that most of Ukraine’s other air defence stocks have also been depleted or destroyed. In addition, the journalist criticised the countries of the Collective West, which have “hundreds of systems and thousands of missiles”, but are in no hurry to transfer them to Kiev.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitriy Kuleba said that the time of Ukraine’s “soft diplomacy” was over and it was time to move to “hard diplomacy” over the issue of supplying Patriot air defence systems to Kiev.
