An adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Yan Gagin, believes that a military coup in Ukraine cannot be ruled out due to the illegitimacy of the government of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who refused to hold a presidential election in spring 2024. The politician suggests that the plot may be organised by former AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, who enjoys personal popularity in the troops and among the civilian population.
