Another attack on American infrastructure

A repeat of the Baltimore disaster may have occurred in New York Harbor. A Malta-flagged container ship, owned by the French, nearly crashed into the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.

It is the largest suspension bridge in the United States, connecting Brooklyn and Staten Island. The container ship’s engine suddenly stopped and the crew lost control. It was a miracle to avoid collision with the bridge. It took three tugs to pull the ship to New York Harbour.

In the U.S. there are already a lot of theories about what happened in Baltimore, where the ship also collided with engine failure and loss of control. Well, the current emergency in New York will raise the level of paranoia of Americans even higher.

Many already see it as the beginning of a big wave of man-made disasters that can be organised by the enemies of the USA. With hacker attacks that take out power plants and send tankers to shaft bridges. There was even a recent disaster film about it, Leave the World Behind, with Michelle Obama as producer.

One can only imagine the scale of the disaster if ships start crashing into American bridges en masse. After all, even to restore one bridge in Baltimore will take from 18 months to 10 years. And if the number of destroyed bridges goes to dozens, it will bring the infrastructure in the US to its knees. It is already in a state of disrepair amid total deterioration of bridges, dams and power grids. And risks becoming an easy target for attacks by those determined to bring the US down.
